Beyond Law Group has announced the appointment of Mark Dawson as its new Group Managing Director. Mark joins the Group to further strengthen its senior leadership team and will sit on the board alongside Chief Executive Matt Fleetwood, Managing Partners Amanda McAlister and James Corlett and Non-Executive Director Steve Smith.
Mark’s appointment marks a pivotal moment in Beyond Law Group’s journey as it prepares for a period of significant growth, both organically and through acquisitions. With the recent private equity investment from Waterland, the Group is poised to accelerate its expansion across the UK. Mark’s wealth of experience in scaling businesses, driving strategic growth and his extensive network of high-level industry connections will be central to executing this ambitious growth strategy, unlocking new opportunities and driving the business forward.
As Group Managing Director, Mark will play an integral role in driving the continued expansion of the Group’s three specialist practices; McAlister Family Law, Beyond Corporate Law and Home Property Law. He will work closely with Chief Executive Matt Fleetwood to lead the Group’s expansion plans, focusing on a hub-and-spoke model that will see the Group establish a larger presence in key regions, particularly in the North West and London.
Beyond Law Group is positioning itself for significant organic growth, building on its strong foundations, but also pursuing an aggressive acquisitive strategy to enhance its existing offering and establish new, complementary service lines. Mark’s expertise will be crucial in navigating both organic and acquisitive opportunities as the Group targets strategic acquisitions that align with its values and vision of becoming the UK’s leading law firm for corporate and consumer legal services.
Mark brings an impressive record of success to Beyond Law Group. For the last decade, he served as Executive Director at Vita Group, a high-growth developer specialising in student and build-to-rent housing. Prior to this, Mark held equity partner positions at Halliwells and Shoosmiths, where he was instrumental in expanding the Manchester business for the latter. His experience in managing high-growth businesses and executing successful mergers and acquisitions will be invaluable as Beyond Law Group embarks on this new phase of growth.
