Diversity and Inclusion at Beyond
There is no single vision of a Beyond Law Group person. We believe that everyone is unique, and it is that which makes our firm a special place to work. We believe in creating opportunities for all and with this in mind we work hard to make that possible across of our offices and teams.
BE Unified
Creating a diverse and including culture does not just happen. It takes effort, commitment, and drive from all. With this in mind we launched our D&I strategy “Be Unified” which brings together our culture and action plans to make unification happen. This together with our total dedication to our firm values ensures that D&I is at the very heart of everything that we do.
We ensure equality, diversity, and inclusion through creating an inclusive culture for our people, providing both traditional and non-traditional routes to qualification, ensuring equal access to opportunities for all of our people, championing difference.
We’re patently aware of our responsibilities to provide long-term opportunities, and the mental pressure to succeed in the workplace. The Group has embarked on a strategy to provide transparency on roles and identify skills in our people to create a balanced scorecard approach, creating management hubs across teams to create a broader career path for everyone.

As part of our BE Unified strategy, we appointed Diversity, unity, and inclusion ambassadors who are members of the firm and are committed to fostering, embedding and promoting an inclusive culture. They have lived experience in the area in which they are offering support and, as such, can provide tailored guidance and a safe space for individuals to share their thoughts and experiences.

Promoting women in law
70% of Beyond Law Group’s senior leadership team are female. We promote gender equality by focusing on senior leadership accountability and specific targets for gender diversity and inclusion, continuing to drive and refine our gender action plan, removing any sex discrimination, bias or bullying to create a culture we’re proud of and ensuring pay, reward and recognition are tied into our gender equality targets at senior leadership level.
Mental and physical wellbeing
We have taken an increasingly strategic approach to promoting mental wellbeing within the firm.
We’ve launched a bespoke mentoring programme, where our people are paired with a mentor from another practice, which also extends to peer-to-peer mentoring and support at senior level. We’ve also implemented 1-1 “happy meetings” across the Group, where employees can talk openly about career progression, work to life balance and mental wellbeing.
We have an active programme of team activities to create happiness and belonging, including yoga, HIIT and online activity groups, as well as weekly cookery and meditation classes. Every employee also receives a premium Vitality membership, encouraging our people to make positive changes – with the goal of keeping them happy and healthy.
Work experience
As a business, we provide approximately 50 work experience placements for students across the UK each year. We do not discriminate when it comes to work experience applicants – we welcome young people from underprivileged backgrounds, including those from local youth clubs, and they have proved to be some of the hardest working and competent students we have had.
Our work experience programme provides an opportunity for students to gain valuable experience across each of our specialist legal practices, gaining valuable insight into the day-to-day role of solicitors and legal professionals.
